Velvet Umbrella Records was born from a desire to protect, empower, and uplift artists — especially those the industry often overlooks.
Co-founded by Gala Violet (Mickey Fingers) and Studio TeaZilla (Tea Kinsington), this indie label is more than a place to publish music. It’s a sanctuary for creators reclaiming their voices and stories.
We believe:
• Artists should own their work
• Every voice deserves to be heard — especially the quiet ones
• Healing and art are deeply intertwined
From the first lyric to the final mix, from album covers to Bandcamp pages, from show posters to launch-day support — we walk beside you.
Many of our artists are:
• Spoonies (living with chronic illness)
• Survivors of industry trauma or toxic band scenes
• Independent creatives carving out space on their own terms
